Highpoint on Columbus Commons: Checking In!

Highpoint on Columbus CommonsIf you are a resident of Columbus, Ohio or the neighboring suburbs, you are probably aware that Downtown Columbus has been the focus of an enormous revitalization project over the last few years. And, if you didn’t know, HighPoint on Columbus Commons has been the center of residential and commercial growth. Not to mention, this Columbus, Ohio real estate development project is one of the largest apartment developments to open in Ohio since 2013. At The Robert Weiler Company, we were honored to be spearheading this project, and lucky that tenants of all backgrounds have flocked to this amazing location on High Street.

A Residential Haven: Upscale Living, Downtown!

Situated in the heart of Downtown Columbus, Highpoint on Columbus Commons provides a residential option unlike any other. It sits along the eight-acre Columbus Commons park, allowing you to enjoy a unique and extraordinary lifestyle that includes both urban luxury and the vitality of green space. Highpoint on Columbus Commons truly accommodates all walks of life, offering a mix of studio, and one- and two-bedroom floor plans, including townhomes, as well as premium home features and interior finishes. Currently, 98% of the residential space is leased!

Prime Commercial Real Estate

In addition to residential space, Highpoint on Columbus Commons provides prime commercial space. In fact, there is 22,700 sq. ft. of retail space for rent, which is available between the North building and South building, and almost all of it is committed. PurePressed Juicery was the first tenant in the South building (located at the corner of High Street and Rich Street). Featuring 1,000 sq. ft. of space, it’s been open for 8 months and is doing extremely well. Other South building tenants negotiating leases include a convenience store, national hair salon chain, women’s boutique, fitness center, and a high-end restaurant. The North building also has two major tenants in negotiation.

“Two-and-a-half years ago, when we started this project, we couldn’t gain the interest. Now, we have national tenants calling,” said Todd Schiff, Senior Vice President of The Robert Weiler Company.

Cause and Effect: What It Means for the Area

Highpoint on Columbus Commons has already attracted a steady stream of interested tenants because of its central location; and we believe it will only continue to grow in popularity. This incredible project provides one-of-a-kind housing options, while also creating thousands of jobs, attracting visitors, and spurring the local economy. It has helped transform Downtown Columbus into a booming area for both residential and commercial space.

Over the next several years, you can expect continued growth, with major development projects focused on the corner of S. High and Rich streets. For instance, 250 High Street will house several office tenants, as well as a restaurant on its bottom floor. In addition, development has been reignited at the historic Trautman Building, which will include 106 apartments. Overall, it is a great time to be living and working in Downtown Columbus, which offers a multitude of benefits to so many people. And, The Robert Weiler Company couldn’t be more proud to be able to bring this revival to the community!
